"If They Can't Make The Smell Go Away, They Need To Shut It Down!" -- Joe Francis
Joe Francis
Liberal Candidate for Jandakot24 August 2008
CMCOAG.com asked Joe Francis what his view was on the SMRC's RRRC Waste Composting Facility and the noxious odour it's emitting.
Joe has stated he's actually smelt the RRRC Waste Composting Facility odour himself and was disgusted by it. He has stated he is appalled at what the residents have been going through for so long at the hands of this noxious odour and how it's affected the lives and health of those being afflicted by it.
Joe, has requested residents phone or email him about this issue as he's eager to discuss this matter with those having to put up with this disgraceful stench.

Quote from Joe's earlier email:"As I have said before to other people in your area, I believe that you have every right to be extremely angry about that plant being built next to you.
My strong position is that if they can't make the smell go away, they need to shut it down.
It just isn't fair to the people who have lived there for years to have something affect their quality of life in the way it does. I also believe that the government has had more than enough chances on this already, and I perfectly understand people are on the end of their tether.
If I am successful, however, I would be a strong advocate for your cause. I think that any decent person who has smelled the stench that you have to put up with would feel the same.
I want you to know that I am sincere in my position on this. For a job I am an Officer in the Australian Navy and I pride myself on honesty. I refuse to lie in order to win votes and would rather loose than compromise my integrity. If I don't win it is back to sea on a submarine for Joe, so I just refuse to compromise myself for the purpose of politics.
This of course makes my job over the next few weeks all the more challenging. I am happy to come visit if you care to talk about this in person. I want to learn as much about it as possible."
