While McRae continues to claim that the plant should be closed or moved, he does not have a plan to put this into effect.
While the plant and it's site was initially committed to by the SMRC during the Court Government, the plant received its operating license and began operation under the Labor Government. No pollution was emitted by the plant during a Liberal Government; pollution has been continuously emitted for five years under the Labor Government and while Mcrae has been the member for Riverton.
Labor is still committed to composting, though perhaps not in Canning Vale, and has over the last five years supported the technology and the plant. Their zero land fill policy by 2020 locks them into composting.
Liberals are NOT committed to composting in Canning Vale or elsewhere and will actively EXPOSE IT'S FLAWS and put in place a process to replace composting.
Bottom line Labor and Mcrae have had five years to stop the pollution and address the communities concerns and they have failed. They are continuing to do so with the withholding of DEC's May survey results.
Even if McRae is fair dinkum about his desire to shut the plant, he has been resoundingly ineffective. It is time to judge McRae by is performance rather than more promises.
